Preparation: Selection of the installation point
Switch off the engine and open the bonnet (or any other access to
the car battery). Make sure that the ignition has been switched off
along with all electricity consumers.
If the car battery has a cover, open it and then follow the installa-
tion instructions.
NOTE:
If any electrical cable connections are attached to the car battery,
we recommend the installation of the Cadillock
®
Alarm by a special-
ized repair shop.
The Cadillock
®
Alarm can generally be attached to the car battery or
next to it. What is important is to make sure that the selected instal-
lation point for the Cadillock
®
alarm fulfils the following:
• the cable length of the Cadillock
®
Alarm is sufficient to reach the
positive pole of the car battery;
• the vehicle’s positive cable reaches the pole of the Cadillock
®
Alarm;
• the black ground cable of the Cadillock
®
Alarm reaches the nega-
tive pole of the car battery;
• the power connection cable of the alarm siren is sufficient to
attach the siren to a suitable point made of metal and to connect
it to the connection cable of the Cadillock
®
Alarm main device.
PLEASE OBSERVE:
The adhesive strength of the adhesive tapes is much weaker at low
temperatures (< 15°C). Therefore only attach the adhesive tapes
when the adhesive surface on the vehicle as well as the adhesive
tapes themselves are in a temperature range of > 15°C.
