PHONES: Headphone jack
Plug your headphones into this 1/4" stereo phone jack (recommended impedance 32 Ω - 600 Ω). Adjust
to the desired volume with the LEVEL control LEVEL control right above the display.
Headphone jack as single output
As a default setting, the stereo main mix signal is on this output. But you can use this socket
also as additional single outputs 7+8, by plugging a Y-splitter cable (1 x stereo jack to 2 x
mono jack), into it and make the respective settings in the UNIT menu on page OUT (see
examples on page 64). In the default setting the headphone output is twice as loud as the
line outputs 1 to 6 (approx. 6 dB). As soon as you switch the headphone output to single
output
„7+8!“ this level is automatically reduced and adjusted to the other six single outputs -
the sound engineer will be pleased ...
LINE IN:
Input jack
Here you can plug in any stereo line source in order to e.g. play / practice with accompaniment (MP3 or
CD player). Another possibility is to feed the sum of an external mixer or its monitor signal into this input
in live or studio situations. You can use either a stereo or a mono cable. In a stereo jack cable the left
channel of a stereo signal is on the tip and the right channel on the ring of the stereo jack. If you plug in a
mono cable, the audio signal is only heard in the
„center“, when you select "mono" on the page OUT in
the menu UNIT (see also page 55). Please note that the factory default setting of the LINE IN volume is
set to “0” in the MIX. To hear LINE IN you will need to raise the value.
OUT1 to OUT6: Single Outputs
With these, you connect the module to an external mixer or audio interface. OUT1 and OUT2 act as the
main output and supply the entire stereo signal as default setting. Depending on the application, you can
assign separate instruments (drum channels) to the individual outputs (OUT1 to OUT6). You have thus 6
or 8 (see PHONES) separate output signals for a variety of application situations at your disposal (more
on page 64).
