If the adapter passes all tests successfully, hardware failure is
ruled out. If a problem still remains, look at cabling, software,
and other issues that affect functionality on the network.
After running the diagnostic tests, you should reboot your
computer to communicate on the network.
Starting the Diagnostic Program
To use the 3C59X
EtherDisk
diskette Configuration and
Diagnostic Program, follow these steps:

Access the main menu on the
EtherDisk
diskette.

Boot the computer under DOS.
If you are running Windows 95, reboot the computer and
press [F4] when you see the message:
Starting Windows 95

Insert the
EtherDisk
diskette in a floppy drive and make
that drive the active one.

At the prompt, type:
INSTALL [Enter]
The main menu appears.

Select
Configuration/Diagnostic/Troubleshooting
, and press
[Enter].

In the next screen, select
Configuration and Diagnostic
Program
, and press [Enter].
If you are testing multiple adapters, a screen listing all
installed adapters appears. Highlight the adapter you want to
test and press [Enter]. A screen appears, showing the selected
adapter with the
Install
menu item highlighted.
