To configure user device folder access permissions:
1
Log into the EMS client as
administrator
.
2
In the explorer tree, select a user under the
Users
root folder that you
want to establish permissions for.
3
From the right-hand side of the EMS window, click the
Permissions
tab.
4
For any folder you want to edit the permissions for, double-click the field
next to the attribute and choose either
Yes
or
No
.
Setting a device folder's permissions to
Yes
gives that user read or
read/write access (depending on their user rights) to the MIB tables,
attributes, database attributes, and gives them the ability to run
operations such as performing a back-up on a device.
Setting a device folder's permissions to
No
prevents a user from being
able to perform any operations or have access to any of a device’s
attributes, data attributes, or MIB tables. If a user does not have
permission to configure device folders, the attribute fields display
Permission denied
. See
Figure 44
.

menus such as

, the script will not execute and a
pop-up window stating that permission is denied appears. See
