(Optional)
3Com provides an integration kit for HP OpenView Network Node
Manager. This kit installs MIB files, icons, SNMP trap decodes and
database customizations to allow you to manage your devices effectively
from the network management platform.
EMS integrates with the following network management platform, that is
available through 3Com: the 3Com Integration Kit for HP OpenView
Network Node Manager.
System
Requirements
This section explains hardware, software, and platform related
requirements necessary to run EMS. The EMS server, GUI client, and CLI
client all run on mixed hardware/software platforms. For example, you
can use an EMS GUI client installed on a Windows workstation to access
an EMS server installed on a UNIX server.
Hardware
Requirements
This section lists the hardware requirements for both an IBM-compatible
and Sun Workstation environment.
IBM-Compatible Hardware Requirements
Table 11
lists hardware specifications for IBM-compatible server and client
environments.
If you are using external databases for your EMS server, the minimum
hardware requirements may change. For more information, see
“Deploying on an EMS Server”
on
page 66
and
“Deploying on a
Dedicated Server”
on
page 66
.
Sun Workstation Hardware Requirements
