Upgrading the EME
Module to
Release 3.0.5
Release 3.0.5 for the EME module essentially refers to the EME
operational image; that is, from the four images on an EME module, the
EME operational image is the only one that has been updated for
release 3.0.5. The other three images on the module remain at various
previous releases (see Table 1 on page 11 for the required release
numbers).
This section describes how to upgrade all four images on the EME
module to the required releases. Most likely, however, you will not have
to upgrade all four images; but it depends on what images your EME
module currently has loaded.
At minimum, you will need to upgrade the
EME operational image because it is new at release 3.0.5;
however, if the
other three images on your EME already conform to the required release
numbers, you do not have to reinstall those images.
CAUTION:
This section assumes that you have already downloaded the
necessary software from the 3Com web site, that your EME has the
required 20 MB of CPU RAM, and that you have saved the configuration
files that are associated with the current software release on the module.
If you have not completed these tasks, reread all prior sections of this
chapter and follow the instructions.
CAUTION:
Do not attempt to perform any management tasks while you
are downloading software.
This section outlines two different installation procedures — one that
applies to a single EME module configuration and one that applies to a
dual EME module configuration:
