Known Problems
for Release 3.0.5
This section describes problems that are known to exist for switch fabric
modules and interface modules (no onboard switching) operating with
software Release 3.0.5.
System
■
You must manually update module emergency download parameters
the first time that a module is updated to the Release 3.0.5
operational code. After this, the parameters are updated automatically
when the operational code is downloaded.
■
At the Administration Console, entering a seemingly valid command
string (two or more commands taken from menus and nested
submenus) may not work. If this situation occurs, enter commands
separately from one menu prompt at a time.
■
The
reset chassis
command does not work if EME diagnostics are
disabled. As a guideline, do not leave EME diagnostics disabled.

Management
■
Do not install GEN interface modules while a GEN switch fabric
module is resetting or if power to any of the switch fabric modules in
a chassis is disabled.
■
The MIB object a3ComSysEthernetPortCount returns the value of the
combined number of front panel ports, backplane ports, and the
management port.
■
This MIB-II counter does not increment: snmplnASNParseErrs.
■
The following MIB objects have write access according to the
corresponding RFC:
■
ifAdminStatus
■
ipDefaultTTL
■
etherStatsDataSource
■
ipRouteAge
However, the 3Com implementation does not allow these parameters
to be changed from their default values.
■
The Administration Console interface incorrectly displays the following
unsupported trap:
■
MIBII: Authentication Failure
