Displays the routing tables for the Multilayer Switching Module. The
routing tables include all configured routes.

Important Considerations
■
Your module maintains a table of routes to other IPX networks. You
can do the following:
■
Use the Routing Information Protocol (RIP) to exchange routing
information automatically.
■
Make static entries in this table. See “ipx route static” later in this
chapter.
■
Enter a regular expression as an argument to this command.
Instead of displaying the entire current IPX route database (which
may contain thousands of entries), the
ipx route display
option
prompts you for a regular expression so that you can search only
for those route addresses and service names that interest you.
■
The first line in the output (the status line) indicates whether:
■
IPX forwarding is enabled.
■
RIP is active.
■
SAP is active.
■
RIP Triggered updates are enabled.
■
SAP Triggered updates are enabled.
■
Secondary route/server option is enabled.
■
The maximum number of hops, or routers, that a packet can cross, is
16 (except NetBIOS packets, which can cross no more than 7 routers).
