If You Are Running Multiple Adapters
If you are running multiple adapters, you need to specify
which adapter you want the driver to recognize by
inputting the slot number into the correct file.
With 3+Open or LAN Manager
If you are running 3Com’s 3+Open
®
or Microsoft LAN
Manager network operating systems, input the slot
number in the PROTOCOL.INI file. For example:
SLOT =
X
where X is a number from 1 to 8. This file is located on
the startup diskette or the hard drive.
With NetWare
If you are running NetWare and you have installed
multiple adapters in a PS/2 computer, make sure that you
load the network driver for each adapter. For example, if
you install three 3C529 adapters, you must load the
driver three times.
Only one adapter can bind or connect with the server at
any one time. Specify the slot number for that adapter in
the NET.CFG file. For example:
SLOT
X
where X is a number from 1 to 8.
