Managing Dial Plan
Tables
A
Dial Plan Table
consists of a series of entries, each of which describes a
sequence of digits and an NBX 100 action when those digits occur. Each
entry in the Internal table (table ID 1), the Incoming table (table ID 2), and
the Least Cost Routing table (table ID 3) include these items:
■
A command (
TableEntry Create
) that adds this entry to the table.
■
The table number (always 1 for the Internal table, and always 2 for the
Incoming table).
■
The table entry number (a unique number within each table).
■
The sequence of digits for which the NBX 100 must scan.
■
The minimum number of digits the NBX 100 must collect before
making a decision.
■
The maximum number of digits the NBX 100 must collect before
making a decision.
■
The Class of Service (Cos) the NBX 100 must use to determine
whether or not to permit the user to make the call.
■
The Priority of this table entry (currently not used).
■
The route number (described in the Routes section of the Dial Plan
configuration file.
There are two types of Dial Plan tables: Normal and Least Cost Routing.
The NBX 100 associates a normal Dial Plan table and a Least Cost Routing
table with each device (for example, telephone, Analog Line Card port, or
Digital Line Card port). The system passes dialed digits first through the
device's Least Cost Routing table (if there is one). If the NBX 100 finds no
entry in the Least Cost table, it then uses the Normal Dial Plan table. If it
does find an entry in the Least Cost Routing table, it attempts to use that
entry and, even if the attempt is unsuccessful, does
not
use the Normal
table.
