A Security Association (SA) is a relationship between two or more entities
that describes how the entities will utilize security services to
communicate securely. An IPSec SA is created to properly encapsulate and
decapsulate IPSec packets. The IPSec SA associates security services and
encryption keys with the IP traffic to be protected between the local peer
and the remote peer to whom IPSec traffic is being exchanged with.
The following information about your VPN Tunnel SAs is displayed on this
page:

: This value is a random number that is used to reference the
particular SA.
■
Source
: the IP address of the local endpoint for the IPSec tunnel
■
Destination
: the IP address of the remote endpoint for the IPSec
tunnel
■
SaType
: IKE and IPSEC
■
Proto
: The security protocol authentication type for which this SA was
setup (AH –Authentication Header, ESP – Encapsulation Security, and
Unknown.)
■
EncrAlg
: the Encryption Algorithm used (DES -- Data Encryption
Standard, 3DES -- Triple-DES)
■
HashAlg
