ROUBLESHOOTING
OfficeConnect
Gateway
Connection
Problems
Use the information in the following table to identify and resolve
OfficConnect Gateway related connection problems.
Symptom
Possible Causes
Corrective Action
Upon initial setup,
communication
between the
OfficeConnect
Gateway and your
workstation cannot be
established.
Incompatible IP
address on your
computer.
Reset the IP address on your
computer.
For Windows 2000, 98 and 95, run
Winipcfg.exe
. Select the
Ethernet adapter connected to the
OfficeConnect Gateway. Click
Release All
and then click
Renew
All
.
For Windows NT 4.0 users, run
ipconfig /release and ipconfig
/renew.
Your Web browser
needs the IP address
of the
OfficeConnect
Gateway.
Enter the IP address of the
OfficeConnect Gateway in your
Web browser: 192.168.1.1.
There is a
configuration
problem.
Reset the OfficeConnect Gateway
to the factory default settings.
The wrong cable
may be connected
to the port on the
OfficeConnect
Gateway and your
PC.
Make sure you are using the RJ-45
LAN cable (blue) that was provided
with your OfficeConnect Gateway.
If you are using another 10BASE-T
Ethernet (Category 5) cable, it
must be a straight-through cable.
Unable to log in to the
OfficeConnect
Gateway web page.
You did not enter a
valid administration
login name and
password.
Enter the correct User Name and
Password.
The unit has no
login name or
password defined.
Restore the system default login by
deleting the current configuration
using the reset button on the back
of the unit.
