Firewall Configuration
8 - 11
When data packets are received by a network interface such as the
OfficeConnect Gateway, a packet filter analyzes packet header data
against its set of rules. Based on rules that you define, the filter permits
the packet to pass through or discards it.
From the Firewall Configuration page, you can select the level of firewall
protection used by the OfficeConnect Gateway. Three levels are
supported:
■
None: No filters are enabled in this mode,
■
Maximum: Maximum usage of packet filtering.
■
Custom: Maximum flexibility of configurable filters.
To configure or modify the Firewall options for the OfficeConnect
Gateway, perform the following steps:
1
From your web browser, access the OfficeConnect Gateway page
(Default IP address: 192.168.1.1).
The Configuration options are displayed on the left-hand frame of the
OfficeConnect Gateway page.
2
Click
Firewall Configuration
(located in the
Advanced
section of the
left-hand frame
) to
access the
Firewall Configuration
page, shown in the
following illustration.
The fields displayed on the FIrewall Configuration page will change
dynamically based on the Firewall Level you select.
