Pause Mode
Some scanning practices, (e.g., moving the wand too fast, or being too close to, or too far
away from, the teeth) can generate bad or inaccurate data. To safeguard against acquiring bad
data, the Lava C.O.S. enters
Pause Mode
. You may also want to use pause mode when you
want to take a break from scanning or if the patient needs to cough, sneeze, swallow, etc.
There are several ways to resume from pause mode:
•
Return to any scanned area with your wand in approximately the same orientation it
was in when you originally scanned that area.
•
Backtrack to where you left off and align the live video (in white) with the static
yellow image (which represents the last image of the scan captured). Find the correct
depth by aligning the Depth Indicator circles. When the system matches the live
video to the captured video image, you can continue the scan.
•
Return to a previously scanned occlusal surface.
