Shade
a. Five different shade settings are available, 8-12. To see the current shade setting, quickly press and release
the SHADE
+
or
-
button. The current shade number will blink. To change shade, press the
+
or
-
button
repeatedly to move the flashing LED up or down to the desired shade (Fig. 6a).
NOTE:
When turned off (or if the battery fails) the welding filter reverts to Shade 2.5. When functioning, the
welding filter cycles between the selected shade and Shade 2.5.
b. The shade may be LOCKED in a desired dark shade by pressing the SHADE LOCK button (Fig. 6b). To come
out of the LOCKED state, press the SHADE LOCK button again. While LOCKED, the shade may be adjusted,
but none of the other function (sensitivity or delay) will operate.
NOTE:
In all welding processes, the arc should only be viewed with the recommended shade darkness (Table 2).
If the recommended shade is greater than 12, the G5-02 welding helmet should not be used.
