Adjusting the table angle
CAUTION.
Always ensure that
the drill press is switched off and
the plug is removed from the
power point before making any
adjustments.
1. Loosen the bolt under the
table by rotating it in an
anti-clockwise direction using
a 19mm wrench.
2. Tilt the table to the desired
angle as indicated on the
bevel scale.
3. Tighten the bolt under the
table by rotating it in a
clockwise direction.
Note.
When the table is tilted the
workpiece should be clamped to the table.
Installing and removing drill bits
CAUTION.
Always ensure that the drill press is switched off
and the plug is removed from the
power point before making any
adjustments.
1. Using chuck key (17) loosen
the chuck jaws by rotating
the chuck key in an anti-
clockwise direction.
2. Fit the drill bit into the
chuck (11) and ensure it is
fully inserted.
3. Rotate the top collar by hand
in an anti-clockwise direction
to grab hold of the drill bit.
4. Using the chuck key tighten
all 3 hole positions
to secure
the drill bit.
Tighten the holes by rotating the chuck key in a clockwise
direction.
Setting the drilling depth
CAUTION.
Always ensure that the drill press is switched
off and the plug is removed from the power point before
making any adjustments.
1. Where the drilling depth stop is not required, thread the
setting nuts to the top of the threaded rod so vertical
movement of the quill is not restricted. Maximum drilling
movement in this setting of 50mm is achievable.
2. To set the drilling stop, fit the drill bit into the chuck
(preferably with the drill bit fully inserted in the chuck)
with the work piece to be drilled clamped to the table.
3. Lift the table so the work piece is close to the drill bit.
Align the work piece with the drill bit so the hole will be
drilled in the correct position.
4. Start the drill and lower the
drill bit to the point where the
drill enters the work piece.
Refer to the scale and note the
position of the pointer. Add
this reading to the drill depth
required. As an example,
take a required drill depth of
20mm. The drill touches the
work piece at 10mm. Add 10
to the 20 required and drill the hole to 30 on the scale.
The hole should be 20mm deep.
