FAIL Limit
The figure on the right depicts levels for

when the value of the FAIL
limit is set to 3.0. (The value of the sensitivity setting is 1.0)
When the detection level exceeds the FAIL limit of the inspection, the
product is deemed defective.
The meaning of the FAIL limit is as follows:
When
increasing the value of the FAIL limit, the detection of a
defective product becomes more difficult. (Detection sensitivity
becomes weak.)
When decreasing the value of the FAIL limit, the detection of a
defective product becomes easier. (Detection sensitivity
becomes strong.)

Under Limit
The under limit is used to detect a product passing the sensor head.
The figure on the right depicts passing products with the value of the
under limit set to 0.5. (The value of sensitivity setting is 1.0)
When the detection level exceeds the product effect of the inspection, it
is recognized that the product has passed the sensor head. At the
same time, the product is judged as either good or defective.
The meaning of the failure limit is as follows:
When
increasing
the value of the failure limit, judgment for
products passing the sensor head becomes more difficult.
(Detection sensitivity becomes weak.)
When decreasing the value of the failure limit, judgment for
products passing the sensor head becomes easier.
(Detection sensitivity becomes strong.)
Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the value of the under limit for each
product.
