9. RS-232C SERIAL INTERFACE
The scale is a data circuit-terminating equipment (DCE). Connect the scale to a data
terminal equipment (DTE) such as a personal computer and external devices using a
D-Sub 9-pin straight through cable.
The RS-232C serial interface has the following four modes.
Stream mode
Outputs data continuously.
Key mode
Outputs data when the PRINT key is pressed.
Auto-print mode
Outputs data when the auto-print conditions are met.
Command mode
Controls the scale using commands from a personal
computer.
Set the parameters of the data output mode (
prt
) and data format (
bps
and
btpr
), as necessary.
Windows Communication Tools Software (WinCT) to communicate with a
personal computer is provided as freeware. Visit the A&D website to download
WinCT.
