While the Hyperboloid cone is in its piston range the deep bass
is enhanced by a flared cone coupling system between the voice
coil and the cone. This structure is very rigid mechanically
because the moving assembly is strengthened by the inclusion
of this flared coupler. Not only, does the coupler enhance
mechanical strength because it joins the cone at one third of its
circumference, but also the lines of force are bent into a direction
parallel with the cones surface eliminating frequency doubling.

Used with our Hyperboloid technology is Vifa’s XT technology.
The philosophy behind this tweeter is consistent with our
Hyperboloid technology. There is no centre dome section to
cause dome breakup producing spectral contamination. It also
has a dual suspension “M” roll construction which has two
advantages, one; that the effective mass of the diaphragm is very
low allowing a useable frequency response of up to 90KHz and,
two; the suspension generates much less distortion. Having a
phase plug in place of a center dome also reduces phase
cancellation and greatly improves dispersion.

Because of the wide range linearity of the speaker drivers we are
able to use the most ideal type of crossover without any negative
side effects. These crossovers are first order filters which are
superior due to their low distortion and phase cohesion. Where
applicable, all the midrange circuits are separated both
physically and electrically to completely eliminate crosstalk and
interference between the midrange, woofer and tweeter. Yet
another bonus of the driver/crossover combination is that these

speakers present a very stable electrical load which guarantees
optimum amplifier performance.

In similar fashion to the drivers and crossovers, meticulous
attention has been given to the cabinet construction. Musical
speakers don’t produce unwanted sound from either the cabinet
walls or the vent. To accomplish this, the hyperboloid cabinets
have thick VDFB walls with an extensive bracing matrix (where
required) and zero turbulence vents. Variable density fiber board
“VDFB” is a new material that not only stops wall vibration but
also eliminates sound transference. Curved edges front and
back of the cabinet have been used to eliminate standing waves
and sound diffraction.

For surround sound the HSS-600 bi pole is at the pinnacle. In order for surround speakers to
function perfectly they must pass several criteria. Apart from high power handing, a flat frequency
response and low distortion they must have a radiation pattern, such, that when compared with the
direct sound the indirect sound has the same intensity. In other words the sound arrives at your
ears equally from the side, rear and front walls, tricking the human ear into believing there is a wall
of sound rather than a point source. The HSS-600 is a high powered purpose built model with a
perfect polar response, genuine wide frequency range, extremely linear frequency response and
low distortion. In short, it fits all the aforementioned criteria perfectly and we are certain it is the very
best on the market.

Last but by no means least, is the HSS-300. This
model is a small, versatile satellite speaker which
can be used as small main fronts, surround
sounds or near field studio monitors. These
speakers may be minuscule in size but they still
produce the highest quality sound despite their
small visual impact. Our SW-200 and SW-400,
with their specially tailored filters, are designed to
integrate seamlessly with these satellites to
produce a rich, full range sound even when
used to reproduce the most demanding home
theatre or two channel music.

Did we achieve our goals? From an objective point of view a resounding yes! Never
before has an audio laboratory measured such low distortion and linearity. From a
subjective point of view? We are very confident your own ears will tell you a definite yes!
