Operation of the Voice Mail functions
Voice messages are retrieved by calling the Voice Mail user group. Once you have
entered the password you are routed to the voice menu of the AVS Voice Mail Sys-
tem where you can retrieve, save, delete voice messages, etc. Other settings are
possible in the voice menu such as changing the personal greeting, activating/de-
activating external notifications, etc. The voice menu is illustrated in the Quick
User’s Guide to the AVS Voice Mail System.
Note:
The user-friendly operation of the Voice Mail functions using the Foxkey
as on the Basic/Enterprise Voice Mail is also available with the AVS Voice
Mail System. However this requires certain additional configurations in
AIMS, which are described in detail in the chapter on configuration in the
"Voice Mail System AVS 5150" System Manual. These additional configu-
rations allow certain management functions (delete voice messages,
record and activate personal greetings, etc.) to be operated using the
Foxkey of a system terminal. The mailbox can then be retrieved:
– with a call to the Voice Mail user group (response as described above)
– with a call to the Voice Mail number defined in the numbering plan
– by pressing the Foxkey directly from the call list.
All these possibilities are described in detail in the "Ascotel Voice Mail Sys-
tems" User’s Guide.
Note:
If the AVS Voice Mail System is combined with the Basic/Enterprise Voice
Mail System it is also possible to activate the mailbox by forwarding to
the Voice Mail number defined in the numbering plan (initialization value
899).
