Sealed lead acid batteries
The enclosed lead batteries should be charged after each use.
Lead batteries are subject to a so-called self-discharge. Therefore, you
should connect the lead batteries to the charger whenever possible. Due to
the fact that the lead batteries automatically go into charge retention as soon
as they are fully charged, an overcharge is impossible.
If your lead batteries do not possess their full capacity yet, the reason may be
that a new lead battery reaches its full capacity only after several char-
ging/discharging cycles
.
F
In order to maintain the charge, always connect your vertical lift to a
charger whenever you do not use it for a longer time. This does not
harm your batteries; on the contrary, it increases their durability.
The two lead batteries, 2 x 12 V / 5 Ah, are gas tight, maintenance-free, re-
chargeable and of top quality.
Lead batteries are considered as safe as dry cells and admitted to air travel
by DOT and IATA.
Lead batteries’ durability depends considerably on the charging / dischar-
ging cycles. You can extract more than 1000 partial discharges and over
200 times the full charge, if you avoid a total discharge.
A total discharge of the batteries does not only lead to a loss of capacity, but
also decreases their durability. Therefore, please avoid a total discharge by
always charging your lead batteries whenever possible!
F
To charge your batteries means to take care of them
F
Please always use the AAT charger to charge your lead batteries. It
turns itself off automatically whenever the batteries are fully char-
ged, thus overcharging them is impossible.
Should your fully charged batteries deplete faster than usual, they are proba-
bly exhausted. In such case you need to have them checked and replaced, if
necessary.
Exhausted batteries can be recycled properly at the appropriate collection
places. It is also possible to give them back to AAT Alber Antriebstechnik
GmbH.
