Decommissioning at decommissioning company, balancing device
The instruction below details how to decommission the balancing device. Contact

DANGER
There is stored energy built up by high
tensioned compression springs inside the
balancing device! When a coil is cut the
released tension creates a spatter of
sparks and flames.
The working area must be free of flam-
mable materials. Position the balancing
device so that the spatter will be directed
away from personnel.

Clamp the device at the working location.
Place the device at ground level so that
the hole and spring coils are cut from a
safe distance and somewhat from above.

DANGER
The hole must be cut as specified in the
figure. Pieces of the spring can be thrown
out from the cylinder at high speed if the
hole is cut larger than specified!

Use a cutting torch with a long shaft.

Cut a hole in the housing as shown in the
figure.

Cut the coils of the springs inside the
housing as specified below:

Double-check the number of coils cut and
make sure all the tension in the springs is
removed.
