11. Connect the accelerometer wires to the connector by pushing the wires and
pressing the locking mechanism (Red/Orange colored). When connecting the
wires between sensor and DAU, make sure the wires are connected with correct
polarity. See the wire color codes in the below figure.
12. Place the cable shield in the clamp for EMI protection.
WARNING!
Make sure the clamp has proper earthing for EMI protection.
Wiring and connecting magnetic field sensor
After mounting the MFS firmly on the motor, connect the cables to sensor.
To connect the cables, obey the below cabling guidelines:
1.
Anchor the cable ends to reduce stress and to prevent false signals due to
cable vibration and slapping.
Note: If cables are allowed to have excessive motion, it can result in cable metal
and insulation fatigue. The fatigue can cause wire strand breakage and
insulation failure and result in noisy or broken connections.
2.
Secure the cables with cable ties or clamps to avoid them hanging loose. When
securing the cable, leave enough slack cable to reduce stress on the MFS
enclosure and on the vibrating machinery. These techniques for cable anchoring
are important for machinery with high displacement amplitudes.
3.
Pierce in the rubber membrane using a screwdriver to push through a cable
sensor. For instructions, see
Using the rubber membrane plate (page 31)
4. Push cables through the tight openings in the cable plate, through the gasket
and then strip down the cables.
5. Strip down the cables to 10 cm and crimp the ferrules on each wire using an
appropriate crimping tool. Leave 2 cm of the cable screen.
