8 Decommissioning
8.1 Introduction to decommissioning
Introduction
This section contains information to consider when taking a product, robot or
controller, out of operation.
It deals with how to handle potentially dangerous components and potentially
hazardous materials.
Note
The decommissioning process shall be preceded by a risk assessment.
Disposal of materials used in the robot
All used grease/oils and dead batteries
must
be disposed of in accordance with
the current legislation of the country in which the robot and the control unit are
installed.
If the robot or the control unit is partially or completely disposed of, the various
parts
must
be grouped together according to their nature (which is all iron together
and all plastic together), and disposed of accordingly. These parts
must
also be
disposed of in accordance with the current legislation of the country in which the
robot and control unit are installed.
