Converter Exchange with PROFIBUS PA
If a converter is connected at the end of a bus and both hook switches were set to provide the bus
termination, then the bus termination is lost when the converter module is removed. The bus is then no
longer properly terminated. To assure correct operation it is necessary to install a bus termination at a
different location. Once the converter module is reinstalled, the old bus termination can be used again.
9.4
Exchange of a Defective Memory Module
If the start-up cannot be completed because of a missing or defective FRAM (or after a parameter change
during operation), Error C is displayed. A new FRAM can be ordered from the Service Dept. at the factory at
Göttingen, Germany. The ABB Order Number and Instrument Number of the flowmeter primary must be
included with the order. The following replacement procedure should be followed:
1. Error C is displayed, missing or bad FRAM
2. Order replacement FRAM and include the Order Number and Instrument Number with the order
3. Turn off supply power
4. After the FRAM is installed and the supply power turned on the system start-up can be completed. All
flowmeter data and parameter settings should be checked and changed as required.
9.5
Checking the Converter with the Flowmeter Primary Simulator 55XC4000
An additional simulator adapter board is required to test the converter S4 with the 55XC4000 simulator. This
can be ordered after the flowmeter has been shipped by providing the Flowmeter Primary Simulator Ordering
Number code. The test procedure is described in the Flowmeter Primary Simulator Operating Instruction,
Part No. D184B049U02. The test should only be conducted by authorized technicians.
9.6
Maintenance
The converter is maintenance free.
9.7
Gaskets
Assure that the housing gaskets are seated properly, defective or crushed gaskets should be replaced. Only
then will the Protection Class IP67 is assured.
