4.7 Energy storage code
Energy storage is a central component of the MV UPS system. Therefore, to ensure the performance of the HiPer-
Guard MV UPS, ABB tested and qualified different energy storage autonomies times, from a few seconds up to
several minutes to ensure the reliability of the MV UPS system. The number “0” corresponds to the standard solu-
tion, based on Lithium-Ion batteries.

4.9 System configuration
The HiPerGuard MV UPS is available as a single unit or multi-units arranged in a hard-parallel configuration. Up to
ten units can be combined to achieve power levels up to 22.5 MVA. Units which are part of a hard-parallel system
must have “1” in their code, while single units are identified by the number “0”. For example, if the total load is 9
MVA, the system shall be composed of 4 HiPerGuard MV UPS units with the number “1” in their type code.

4.11 Layout
This field refers to the disposition of the PCU (low voltage enclosures). The letter “B” corresponds to “back-to-
back” arrangement.

4.8 DC cables entry
The DC cables from/to the Energy Storage can enter the DCT enclosure either top or bottom. Therefore, "T" corre-
sponds to the top DC cable entry, and "B" corresponds to the bottom DC cable entry.
