Service work every 25 … 50 hours
CAUTION
Unknown operational changes
Impairment to the degree of a possible operating failure can be the conse-
quence.
Have any unknown causes clarified by an ABB Turbocharging Service
Station.
Visual check for air, exhaust gas, water and oil leaks.
Record operating data and enter in the engine logbook.
In case of deviations, determine the cause.
5.2.2
Service work at 100 hours after commissioning
Clean or replace the oil filter located in the supply pipe to the turbocharger while the en-
gine is stopped.
5.2.3
Service work according to instructions of enginebuilder
Clean or replace the oil filter located in the supply pipe to the turbocharger while the en-
gine is stopped.
5.2.4
Service work according to data on the rating plate
(Usually after 8000 … 12000 operating hours)
The rotor and bearing parts must be checked and assessed by an ABB Turbocharging Service
Station. The following work can be carried out as preparation.
Remove the turbocharger from the engine and disassemble according to chapter Disas-
sembly and assembly. Measure clearances.
Clean nozzle ring, turbine casing, and compressor casing, and check for cracks and ero-
sion/corrosion.
