Lubricating oil temperature at inlet
WARNING
Machine damage and injury to personnel
If the oil temperature at the oil inlet exceeds the admissible range, this
may lead to machine damage and injury to personnel.
u
Observe oil temperature at the oil inlet according to the following
table.
Status for operation
Oil temperature at the inlet
T

Permissible
30 … 80
Temporarily permissible (< 1h) ->
alarm
> 80
Not permissible -> stop the engine
> 85
Not permissible -> Do not start the
engine (pre-warm the oil before start-
ing)
< 30
Lubricating oil temperature at outlet
The oil temperature at the outlet is mainly dependant on:
¡
Lubricating oil temperature and pressure at the oil inlet
¡
Engine load and turbocharger speed
¡
Exhaust gas temperature.
The maximum admissible oil temperature at the outlet is listed in the fol-
lowing table. The specified oil outlet temperature is to be considered as
alarm value for the turbocharger operation and must be monitored ac-
cording to the current regulations.

If the turbocharger has been operated for a longer period of time out-
side the admissible range, ABB Turbo Systems recommends having the
turbocharger inspected by an ABB Turbocharging Service Station.
