4 Repair
4.1 Introduction
Structure of this chapter
This chapter describes all repair activities recommended for the IRB 1600/1660ID
and any external unit.
It is made up of separate procedures, each describing a specific repair activity.
Each procedure contains all the information required to perform the activity, for
example spare parts numbers, required special tools, and materials.
WARNING
Repair activities not described in this chapter must only be carried out by ABB.
Otherwise damage to the mechanics and electronics may occur.
Required equipment
The details of the equipment required to perform a specific repair activity are listed
in the respective procedures.
The details of equipment are also available in different lists in the chapter
.
Safety information
There are general safety information and specific safety information. The specific
safety information describes the danger and safety risks while performing specific
steps in a procedure. Make sure to read through the chapter
before commencing any service work.
Note
If the IRB 1600/1660ID is connected to power, always make sure that the IRB
1600/1660ID is connected to earth before starting any repair work.
