2.9 Commissioning
2.9.1 Check list for IRBT 2005 before commissioning
Cables/hoses
Description
Verify that...
It is common to see these cables stretched, stood on, or
with other cables resting on them.
No stretch of the power and
signal cables for the motor.
Stretched cables will inevitably affect the shielding and
cause feedback issues and other damage.
Inspect the shielding
If there is movement in the cables then they could get
trapped and damaged.
No movement of the cable
If the length is excessive, it indicates that the orientation of
robot is different to what was initially ordered.
Verify the length
If cables have excessive length and are not strapped at all,
cables could easily get caught and damaged in the dead
stop.
If the cables are not fixed properly then they can easily get
caught and damaged.
Fixed position with straps.
Cables need to be tied to prevent this from happening.
Spare ABB cable also needs to be tied out of the way.
Is shielding visible?
Robot cables need securing because they are loose down
to the cable chain and could easily get damaged.
Cables secured and not
hanging loosely.
Cable chain
Description
Verify that...
Does the robot carrier run up and down the entire
length of track without hitting the trunking, guarding
etc?
Working correct in the entire length
Is there any damage to the cable chain such as step
damage, twisted sections or brackets, etc?
No damage
Ensure cables are not twisted, too tight or too loose
inside cable chain.
Correct cable hoses length inside.
Ensure that each cable is individually cable tied and
identified using white marker to indicate movement.
Correctly secured with ties both ends
and white marked.
If the cables are not fixed properly then they can
easily get caught and damaged.
Fixed position with straps.
-
Each cable is individually tied and
marked up correctly
Cable tray
Description
Verify that...
Is there any wear on the inside or outside of the cable
chain from being twisted and rubbing against cable tray?
No wear against in or outside of
the cable tray
Has the channel been secured correctly to the provided
brackets?
Correctly tightened
