3.3 Unpacking
3.3.1 Pre-installation procedure
Introduction
This section is intended for use when unpacking and installing the product for the
first time. It also contains information useful during later re-installation of the
product.
Prerequisites for installation personnel
Installation personnel working with an ABB product must:
•
Be trained by ABB and have the required knowledge of mechanical and
electrical installation/maintenance/repair work.
•
Conform to all national and local codes.
Checking the pre-requisites for installation
Action
Make a visual inspection of the packaging and make sure that nothing is damaged.

Remove the packaging.

Check for any visible transport damage.
Note
Stop unpacking and contact ABB if transport damages are found.

Check the contents in delivery according to the attached product list.

Clean the unit with a lint-free cloth, if necessary.
Note
Do not clean any of the pre lubricated parts of the track motion IRT 710.

Make sure that the lifting accessory used (if required) is suitable to handle the weight
of the product as specified in:

If the product is not installed directly, it must be stored as described in:

Make sure that the expected operating environment of the product conforms to the
specifications as described in:
Operating conditions on page 64

Before taking the product to its installation site, make sure that the site conforms to:
•
Protection standards on page 59
•
Requirements, foundation on page 60

Before moving the robot, please observe the stability of the robot.

When these prerequisites are met, the robot can be taken to its installation site as
described in section:
Installation and commissioning on page 85

Install required equipment, if any.
