Change of position of the
vertical/horizontal terminals
With the exception of versions E4.2 UL 3200A and 3600A, and E6.2 UL version 6000A, switching from
horizontal to vertical and vice versa is possible at any time if the circuit-breaker is supplied equipped
with horizontal/vertical rear terminals. (see Figure 66 IEC and Figure 67 IEC). Lock the screws with the
following tightening torques:
• E2.2 - M6 screws - Tightening torque 8.6 Nm - 70.8 lb.in
• E4.2 and E6.2 - M8 screws - Tightening torque 20 Nm - 177 lb.in

Clearances
Information on clearances is available on the website:

The following layout is also available
Phase separators
Phase barriers are mandatory for 2ps configuration. For the 4ps configuration it is possible to place
isolation barriers for the segregation of live parts. In addition, the phase separators are mandatory:
• If, between two phases, the minimum distance between the screws that fix the circuit-breaker
terminals to the connection bars is less than 14 mm - 0.55".
• For circuit breakers version IEC >690V and UL >635V.
Information on the assembly is available on the website http://www.abb.com/abblibrary/
DownloadCenter/, in particular with the kit sheet
.
Connection to the power
circuit
A circuit-breaker is connected to the power circuit using the connection busbars of the switchboard fixed
to the circuit-breaker terminals.
Emax 2 circuit-breakers are tested in accordance with standards IEC 60947.2-3 and UL 1066.
The switchboard designer is responsible for busbar sizing, which must be validated by application of the
tests provided for by the pertinent standards.
