Electronic accessories | 10 - Ekip Com Modbus TCP modules
Configuration
The modules can also be configured with the Ekip Connect software (see the chapter “16 - Other accessories",
and the paragraph "Ekip Connect software" on page 245):
• With Ekip T&P module connected to the trip unit, and serial scan (see page 246).
• With Ekip Bluetooth module connected to the trip unit, and Bluetooth scan (see page 245).
• With the modules connected to the Ethernet network, and Ethernet scan.
With serial or Bluetooth scan, the configuration is possible only with Local Bus enabled.
In addition to the parameters for setting the function and addressing of the modules, the following options
are available on Ekip Connect:
• Enable IEEE 1588, to enable the IEEE 1588 protocol for the distribution of the clock signal and synchronization.
• IEEE 1588 master, to set the modules as master in the network segment to which they belong.
• IEEE 1588 time zone, to select the time zone.
• IEEE 1588 Daylight Saving Time, to select whether or not the country to which the time displayed on the
trip unit uses daylight saving time.
• Disable Gratuitous ARP, to enable/disable the periodic generation of an ARP Gratuitous message, used
by Ekip Connect to quickly find the modules with an Ethernet scan without knowing their IP addresses
in advance.
With Ekip Connect it is also possible to choose between two modes for accessing the trip unit, Standard
mode or Password required. In the case of Password required, when selecting the trip unit access mode
remotely (on the display, see the menu
Settings
-
Modules
-
Local/Remote
) and with access via the Ethernet
module, new settings are accepted only after inserting the user password (which is the same as the one that
must be inserted for any setting from the display).
NOTE:
the password can be inserted without having to type any leading zeros.
Signallings
A
B
C
The following table shows the possible signals, and their meaning:
Pos.
Description
A
Power LED, green. The possible states are:
• Off: power supply absent.
• On fixed: power supply and communication with the trip unit present (with a trip unit with the
Alive LED option disabled).
• On, with one flash per second (synchronized with that of the green LED on the trip unit):
power supply and communication with trip unit present (with a trip unit with the Alive LED
option enabled).
• On, with two quick flashes per second (not synchronized with those of the green LED on the
trip unit): power supply present, and communication with trip unit absent (for example: because
of Local Bus disabled).
B
Link LED, green. The possible states are:
• Off: connection error (signal absent).
• On fixed: correct connection.
C
Activity LED, yellow. The possible states are:
• Off: no activity on the line.
• On flashing: activity on the line (in reception and/or transmission).
