13 - Password and security
Function
The password is intended to prevent unintentionally setting incorrect parameters
from the display.
However, changing parameters without entering the password is allowed from:
Service connector, with
Ekip T&P or Ekip Programming
and the Ekip Connect application
Bus, with
Ekip Com
modules and with the Trip unit configured
Remote
(page 29)
WARNING! it is suggested to set a password for the Ekip Connect and the remote
control system

WARNING! it is the user's responsibility to configure the security to prevent
unauthorized accesses and changes
Description
The password is a five-digit number, each of which can have a value from 0 to 9. The default
value is:
00001
.
The password is required when:
Selecting a parameter to be changed (including the password itself, in the
Settings
menu)
Selecting the
Test
menu
Entering the password allows access to all menus without having to re-enter it repeatedly if the
operations are carried out within a time of two minutes. Once this time has elapsed it must be
entered again, where necessary.
NOTE: the password also expires when a programming session is canceled (page 31)
Entering the
password
To enter the password it is necessary to confirm each digit using the
Enter
button, changing the
digit as needed with the
Right/Up
and
Left/Down
buttons. To confirm the entry of the password
it is therefore necessary to press Enter five times:

Disabling the
password
You can disable the password by setting it to the value: 00000.
In this situation the only action that will require entering the password is changing the password
itself, in the
Settings
menu.
Exceptions
NOTES:
If the wrong password is entered, the message "
Password incorrect
" will appear
for about 3 seconds and the page for entering the password will re-open
There is no limit to the number of incorrect passwords that can be entered
