Telnet
The Telnet command lets you control Diskus remotely from your
PC or Mac (referred to in this section collectively as "personal
computer").
The following example assumes that the Ethernet
communications have been set up by your engineer. See the
installation information in the Technical section for details on
setting up the Ethernet network.
Telnet into Diskus from the personal computer
:
Open your Telnet application.
Open a connection from the personal computer to Diskus, as
guest
(see the documentation that came with your computer
for details on starting a Telnet session).
Here is an example login. Enter the text in bold type.
login: guest
Abekas A6100, 1.0b9: Thu Nov 10 21:49:52 GMT 1994
guest@diskus%
Test the remote commands:
At the
guest@diskus%
prompt, type
play
. Diskus should
the begin playing the disk. Type
stop
to stop playback. (See
the Ethernet Commands section for a list of additional
commands.)
Log out of Diskus:
At the
guest@diskus%
prompt, type
logout
. This returns
you to the
%
prompt.
