Timecode Trigger
A timecode trigger lets Diskus make a frame accurate transfer via
an external timecode signal (e.g. a Betacam
®
). The trigger time is
a preset timecode location where Diskus performs the function.
The most commonly used Diskus functions are play forward and
record, however, you can select other functions in the Macro Alias
menu. Use the Timecode menu and the Macro Alias menu to set
the timecode trigger. The Timecode View Window, as set in the
Timecode menu, displays the current disk position in standard
8-digit timecode.
Before setting a timecode trigger, first confirm that the timecode
source is connected to the timecode input connector.
STEP 1:
Open the Timecode menu. Click on Trig Source to select the
source.
STEP 2:
As an option, you can use the Timecode View Window from
the Timecode menu to make sure Diskus is reading the
source timecode.
STEP 3:
Set the trigger timecode. Click on Trig Time in the
Timecode menu to enter the timecode number that will
trigger Diskus to perform the function.
STEP 4:
Open the Macro Alias menu. Click on Function to select the
function you want Diskus to perform at the trigger point.
When Diskus reads incoming timecode that matches the preset
timecode trigger number, Diskus will perform the selected
function.
