Logging In
When starting DiskNet for the first time, the Disk Login panel,
shown below, appears. The list shows all servers currently listed
in the local “hosts” file, found in the system folder. To log in to a
disk, highlight the target device and click Connect, or
double-click the device. (At present all logins are “guest.”)
Before a device appears in the list it must have a valid entry in
your hosts file. See page 5-41 for information on configuring the
hosts file.
If the login is successful, the control panel appears. If not, a
message indicating the reason for failure appears.
After a successful login, details of the host are stored in the
DiskNet preferences file. Next time you start DiskNet it
automatically logs in to the last selected host.
You can change connections at any time by selecting Open
Connection...
from the File menu.
NOTE: To disable the automatic login, hold down
the control key while DiskNet starts up.
