– = reserved; must be zero
B = starting logical block (MSB first)
L = length in blocks (MSB first)
For example, with a block size of 512 bytes, a full-size PAL (720
x 576) YUV (2 bytes per pixel) frame image (829,440 bytes)
occupies 1,620 blocks, and the last block on the Diskus disk (1,616
frames) is 2,617,919. To extract frame 4 from the disk, issue a
READ of 1,620 blocks, starting at block 6,480. With a window of
200 x 100 (x, y offsets not important) in effect, a YUV frame image,
which is now only 40,000 bytes, occupies 79 blocks with 448 bytes
of zero padding. The last block on the Diskus disk is 127,663. To
extract the window from frame 4, issue a READ of 79 blocks,
starting at block 316.
A full-size NTSC (720 x 486) YUV frame image (699,840 bytes)
occupies 1,367 blocks (with 64 bytes of padding), and the last
block on the Diskus disk is 2,209,071. To extract frame 4 from the
disk, issue a READ of 1,367 blocks, starting at block 5,468. NTSC
window transfers are identical to PAL window transfers, with the
exception of the allowable window parameters.
