VAR
This key lets you play Diskus at a variable speed, as set with the
numeric keypad or the Control Knob. Pressing VAR by itself does
not play Diskus; press VAR to arm variable play mode. Press a
PLAY
key to play Diskus at the set variable playback speed.
NOTE: This is totally separate from the "default"
speed set in the Defaults menu in the GUI. If you
press the GUI Play button in the GUI Transport
Window, Diskus plays at the speed set in the
Defaults menu.
FRAME
This key operates in the same way as the Frame Mode key in the
GUI Defaults menu. Diskus can play back a full frame or a field
of video. A lit LED in the FRAME key indicates that the frame
mode is active.
FRAME MODE (LED ON)
: Diskus uses both fields of off disk
video to output the complete frame.
FIELD MODE (LED OFF)
: Diskus uses a field of off disk video
and creates a frame of video from the single field. The method of
creating the frame is determined by the interpolator setting in the
defaults menu.
There are three different frame modes. Select the mode as follows:
STEP 1:
Press 1,3, then MENU. This selects the Defaults menu. The
third line item is frame mode. The default selection appears
in parentheses if FRAME (key LED) is off.
STEP 2:
Toggle FRAME, AUTO (Auto frame), and FILM (525 only)
mode by pressing the ENTER key. You may also use the
numeric keypad by pressing 1 (frame), 2 (auto), or 3 (film).
Press the ENTER key to select the mode.
