7.4 Additional functions
7.4.1 Setting the arc characteristic
Use of this function makes it possible to adjust the arc from hard (−10) to soft (+10).
7.4.2 Adjusting the iArc mX Speed penetration control
Activating this function makes it possible to automatically adjust the wire feed speed so that the welding
current remains constant even if the free welding wire end varies. The variances in penetration depth and
seam width are reduced. This function facilitates a consistent penetration depth.
iArc mX Speed penetration control is available under the following conditions:
— Welding procedure: iArc mX Standard DC or iArc mX DC
— Welding wire material: Steel, steel filler wire, CrNi stainless steel, or stainless steel filler wire
— Sequence: Main welding sequence
7.4.3 Adjusting the move frequency
The welding current switches between two values during the iArc mX Move DC welding procedure.
This creates a scaled seam surface, the markedness of which is influenced by the frequency.
The move frequency function is only available in the iArc mX Move DC welding procedure.
