Using your kettle

It  is  recommended  that  you  boil  the  kettle  several  times  following  the  below
instructions and discard the water before first use. This will remove any loose dust
or materials that may have remained from the manufacturing process.

1.

Open the lid and fill with water. Fill to the required level and close the lid. We
recommend you fill to the maximum line for first use and discard the water as
suggested above.

2.

Always fill the kettle between the MIN and MAX lines. If you fill below the MIN
line  the  kettle  may  run  dry  and  you  may  damage  the  heating  element.  If  the
kettle runs dry the safety cut-out will operate and the power will be removed
from the element to prevent possible damage. To reset, allow the kettle to cool
down or carefully add water. If you fill above the MAX line, then boiling water
may be ejected from the spout.

3.

Insert the mains plug into a suitable 13 Amp mains socket.

4.

Press  the  power  switch  to  the  ON  position  ‘I’.  The  power  light  will  light  up.
When the water has boiled the kettle will switch off automatically. Avoid lifting
the kettle from the base while boiling.
