ACE-3105, ACE-3205 Ver. 5.2

N:1 (N-to-one) VC/VP encapsulation – Several VCs or VPs are encapsulated to
a single PW connection.
ACE-3105, ACE-3205 allows single or multiple cells to be encapsulated per frame.
For more information about the ATM over PSN functionality, see page
. For
detailed description of the ATM over PSN encapsulation modes, refer to
TDM over PSN Capabilities
By allowing its E1/T1 interfaces to work in TDM mode (user-selectable),
ACE-3105, ACE-3205 allows 2G cellular traffic to be transported over PSNs.
Both structure-agnostic and structure-aware modes are supported, with up to
8 bundles per E1/T1 port or 32 bundles in total. The encapsulation of TDM traffic
complies with the RFC 4553 (SAT over PSN) and RFC 5086 (CES over PSN)
requirements.
To compensate for the jitter caused by the packet-switched network, each TDM
stream has a jitter buffer of up to 32 milliseconds.
For more information about the TDM over PSN functionality, see
on page
. For detailed description of the TDM over PSN
encapsulation modes, refer to
Abis Optimization
Using up to six E1 Abis interfaces, ACE-3205 can be configured to receive and
optimize GSM Abis traffic for attaining lower voice bandwidth and reducing the
costs of the backhauling services without affecting the voice transport quality
over ATM or packet switched networks.
ACE-3105 supports up to four E1 Abis interfaces.
ACE-3205 supports up to six E1 Abis interfaces.
LAN-to-LAN Bridging
ACE-3105, ACE-3205 supports LAN-to-LAN bridging to allow backhauling of
Ethernet traffic originating from the cellular site/Node B. Two modes of operation
are supported:
•
Transparent – frames from the user port are forwarded to the PSN "as is".
•
VLAN stacking – a VLAN ID is added to any frame that is received on the user
port, and then forwarded to the network port. When received from the PSN,
the VLAN tag is removed and the frame is forwarded to the user port.
PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) and Virtual MAC Addresses
To allow HSDPA connectivity in a variety of DSL-based cellular backhaul
applications, ACE-3105, ACE-3205 initiates PPPoE sessions for acquiring IP
addresses for all data, voice and management connections.
Two PPPoE sessions can be established – one for management traffic and one for
data flow.
