Using the Windows XP
Media Center
Overview
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 is preinstalled on your
system. Media Center is designed specially for home entertainment. All your
entertainment experiences can be received and controlled from one place
without the need for separate video or audio components.
Media Center allows you to enjoy a wide variety of digital entertainment, such
as TV, photos, music, home videos, radio, DVDs and other services, while sitting
in front of your Aspire iDea with Windows desktop working in the background
or with Media Center displayed in full screen. You can also chat with friends by
sending instant messages while watching a TV program, movie or listening to
radio.
Opening Media Center
Turn on the system. System will launch Media Center if the
Start Media Center
when Windows starts
option in the Settings menu is enabled.
Note:
If the system fails to launch Media Center after turning on the
system, press
on the remote control to open the Media Center Home
Page. On the Home Page, select
Settings
>
General
>
Startup and
Window Behavior
, then check the
Start Media Center when Winows
starts
option and click
Save
. After the setup is finished, restart the system
to launch Media Center.
When working within a Windows XP program, you can revert to Media Center
by doing any of the following:

on the remote control.
