Planning your Cluster Environment
Windows NT Configuration
1. Cluster servers must be in the same domain.
2. Install the cluster as domain administrator.
3. Cluster servers may assume the following models in an NT domain:
a) PDC-BDC
b) BDC-BDC
c) Member servers
4. Cluster servers belong to only one cluster.
5. They do not support FAT and only support NTFS.
6. At least one disk on each node must not be attached to any of the
shared buses. This disk must be used as the system disk on each node.
7. Windows NT Server 4.0 must be installed entirely on each node’s non-
shared disk.
8. All Paging files and system files must be on non-shared disks.
9. An Administrator account must be created on each with the same
password.
Network Requirements
1. At least one shared LAN for intracluster communication (for Private
Network).
2. At least one shared LAN for client access to the cluster (for Public
Network).
