Receiving information with NFC
All it takes is a swipe for someone to share information with you.
Smartphones, tablets, and other devices can send information to your
computer via NFC. Depending upon the device sending the data, you
may be able to receive a variety of content. Much of the content NFC
is able to send opens in your web browser when transmitted; as such,
you must have Internet access to view it.
To share content, transmitting devices generally need to do the
following:
1. With NFC enabled, open the application you want to transmit
information from.
2. Navigate to the specific information you want to send (a person’s
contact details, a website, a Google map, etc.)
3. Place the device closer than 2 cm from your computer and follow
any onscreen instructions.
Note
For specific instructions on transmitting content via NFC, see the owner’s
manual for the other device.
