To install a DIMM
Note:
Observe the “Installation precautions” on page 45 when
installing or removing a computer component. Also, make sure
that you have removed the computer cover (see
page 47).
1.
Open the clips on the socket.
2.
Align the DIMM with the socket (a).
3.
Press the DIMM into the socket until the clips lock onto the DIMM
(b).
Note:
The DIMM sockets are slotted to ensure proper installation.
If you insert a DIMM but it does not fit easily into the socket, you
may have inserted it incorrectly. Turn the DIMM and try to insert it
again.
To reconfigure your computer
Your computer automatically detects the amount of memory installed.
Run the BIOS utility to view the new value for total system memory
and make a note of it. For more information on BIOS, refer to the
Veriton 7200 series online guide (see “Accessing the online guide” on
page 6).
