Check to make sure the HDD is properly connected, and that the HDD cables (power and data)
are in good condition

Disconnect the HDD and try to turn the DVR on. The DVR should turn on and notify you that
there is no drive plugged in. when prompted “No HDD, Continue?” You can click yes. If the
DVR turns on, try connecting a different hard drive.

This system tries to index the data stored on the drive before booting up. If you have an
abundance of small video clips, it may take an extended period of time to boot.

If there are errors in the hard drive, it can cause the system to boot slowly.
