Selector fully
COUNTERCLOCK-
WISE, then the ignition switch to
the OFF position.

Selector to its initial
position (setting) as
marked in Step 1 of
the test procedure.
What to do with the Trouble Codes
Look up the code definitions listed in
Section 12, “Nissan Code Meanings,”
At this point you can either:
• Have your vehicle professionally
serviced. Trouble codes indicate
problems found by the computer.
or,
• Repair the vehicle yourself using
trouble codes to help pinpoint the
problem. Refer to Section 3, “Using
Codes.” Be sure to erase any trouble
codes from the computer’s memory
after repairs are completed, as
indicated below.
Erasing Trouble Codes after Repair
16)Turn the ignition switch to the ON
position, but do not start the
engine.
17)Turn the Diagnosis
Mode Selector fully
CLOCKWISE, and wait
at least 3 seconds.
18)Turn the Diagnosis
Mode Selector fully
COUNTERCLOCK-
WISE, and wait at
least 3 seconds.
19)Turn the ignition
switch to the OFF
position.
Trouble Codes are now erased!
20)IMPORTANT: Turn
the Diagnosis Mode
Selector to its initial
position (setting) as
marked in Step 1 of
the test procedure.
NOTE: When reinstalling the computer,
be careful to route all wiring to its
original position.
