If you want to connect to a 5-pin USB terminal available on your
motherboard, you can use the adapter cable (shown below left).

Read your motherboard’s documentation to locate the USB
terminal and identify the pin that provides power, and then
connect that to Pin 1 (shown above right) on the USB 5-pin
connector.

Check your motherboard documentation to ensure that the USB header is
wired according to the information in this Table.

Close your computer cabinet and reattach the power cord, then
power on your computer. When your computer restarts, the
system will go through a sequence of installation processes by
itself. When installation is complete, you can begin using your
Adaptec Media Reader. See
