As the example shows, the fan status display contains the
following columns:

The following sections describe the information that the
enclosure show fan
command can display in these columns.
The Enclosure and Fan Columns
The
Enclosure
column displays the ID associated with the enclosure
management device that you specified on the command line. If you
did not specify an ID, the
enclosure show fan
command
displays the IDs for all enclosure management devices connected to
the controller. In the example, the
enclosure show fan
command displays enclosure management device IDs
0
and
1
.
The
Fan
column displays the unit number associated with the fan
that you specified on the command line. If you did not specify a
unit number, the
enclosure show fan
command displays the
unit numbers for all fans on the enclosure management device or
devices. In the example, there is one fan (unit
0
) each on enclosure
management devices
0
and
1
.
The Status Column
The
Status
column displays the status for each fan listed in the
display. The
enclosure show fan
command can display the fan
status values listed in
Table 9-4
.
Table 9-4 Fan Status Values
Status
Meaning
OK
The fan is operational. In the example, fan 0 on
enclosure management device 0 is operational.
BAD
The fan is not working properly.
NOT INSTALLED
The fan is not installed. In the example, fan 0 on
enclosure management device 1 is not installed.
UNKNOWN
The status of the fan is not reportable. Or, the fan
status is unknown.
